How to care for stainless-steel jewelry (it’s almost nothing)

After water: rinse and dry

Seawater and chlorine leave a mineral film on any metal. They cannot corrode stainless steel, but they can dull its light. Ten seconds under fresh water and a pass with a soft cloth restore the finish completely.

Storage: separately, softly

Steel is harder than most metals around it: a steel piece can scratch softer jewelry sharing a pouch. Store each piece in its own Olah pouch.

What never to do

No polishing compounds, no silver dips, no ultrasonic cleaners on corded or lacquered pieces. Polish strips a finish designed never to need it; dips treat tarnish steel does not produce. For cords and threads: keep perfume off them.
